ForestWorks is proud to announce it will be delivering the Forestry Workforce Training Program, funded by the Australian Government, through the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).

Scope

The Forestry Workforce Training Program includes 22 targeted projects to support the forest, wood, pulp, and paper industries in addressing specific VET challenges and structural impediments. These projects aim to identify long-term sustainable solutions for the industry to access essential training.

Key features of the Forestry Workforce Training Program include the integration of stackable micro-credentials, flexible training models, and strategic coordination of RTO assessors.

ForestWorks will deliver the Forestry Workforce Training Program in collaboration with dedicated partners, working alongside industry stakeholders. To enhance engagement between the industry and the VET sector, a national network of trainers, assessors, and workforce development managers will be established.

The Forestry Workforce Training Program emphasizes inclusivity and diversity by creating micro-credentials tailored for women, underrepresented groups, and First Nations, alongside mentoring programs and support for workforce diversity.

This achievement is the result of an industry-led tender response and proposal, made possible by the dedicated efforts, contributions, and support of many key industry participants. The support, commitment, and collaboration of all participants will be crucial to the successful delivery of the Program.
