Developing Training Materials for Industry Micro-Credentials and Traineeships

This project aims to develop and share training materials for various roles and activities within the forestry and wood products industry. These materials will support micro-credentials, traineeships under the Forestry Workforce  Training Program (FWTP), and other industry training priorities.

Key focus areas also include cultural awareness, gender diversity, safety, and Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) literacy.

The objective is to provide accessible and comprehensive resources that meet the training needs of the industry and cater to diverse learner groups, including women and First Nations Australians.

Pilot Sectors

  • All Sectors

Activities

Gather input on training resource needs and priorities from relevant FWTP projects and broader engagement for national qualifications.

Conduct a market analysis of existing training resources, with a focus on cultural awareness, safety, LLND literacy, and identified industry-specific training needs. Identify gaps and explore opportunities for adapting or developing new training materials.

Prepare a report summarising the findings from the resource review, including recommendations for acquiring existing resources and developing additional ones. Assess the suitability of identified training resources for online learning or transitioning from face-to-face to online delivery.

Create a detailed and prioritised list of resources to be developed, with clear timelines and assigned responsibilities.

Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop the prioritised resources.

Compile all developed and customised training materials into the virtual resource library created under Project 21.

Prepare a report that outlines a plan for promotion, regular reviews and updates to ensure the content remains relevant and up-to-date.

Prepare a final report summarising the overall project for broader accessibility.
