ForestWorks is delivering support to Opal Australian Paper workers affected by white side manufacturing stand downs and any future operational changes through the Opal Worker Support Service(program ends 30 June 2026).
Any worker who is made redundant will be eligible for:
Intake and case management services
Training support including recognition of current competencies and funded training
Employment assistance services including the utilisation of Jobs Victoria Services and Skills and Jobs Centres
Mental health and wellbeing support
Eligible workers may receive a relocation support payment of up to $45,000 if alternative employment has been secured and involves moving more than 50kms from current address. Click here to read more about relocation funding
