Do you work in Community Forestry?
Under the Workers Support Program, you can receive recognition for your current competences.
What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?
Recognition of current competencies is a process that assesses your skills and competency— gained on the job, through formal learning, work experience, volunteering, self-directed learning and life experience — to determine if you meet the requirements for a unit of study.
Your skills can be demonstrated in lots of different ways:
- Records of completed training
- Assessment records and examples
- Verification from your employer or supervisor
- Copies of your student records
Formalising your existing skills can:
- Help you understand your strengths, weaknesses, and interests, and help you to map appropriate pathways for upskilling or reskilling
- Improve employability by making sure your skills are recognised and can help you find new employment opportunities
- Provide access to, and credit towards, further education and training
Our Worker Assistance Coordinators are able to help to make sure your existing skills are formally recognised. You get to take those skills and formal recognition with you to your next job. This means you can demonstrate to prospective employers exactly what skills and competencies you hold.
