The Forestry Better Business Program offers organisations a tool for business accreditation by offering one agreed set of standards, located in one central place, for ease of access. A clear benefit of the program is streamlined communication between forestry contracting businesses and forestry managers.
The online portal, which houses the standards, is now complete and data will be entered on a trial basis in early 2017.

This program has been developed in Tasmania, with the view that it will become available to all states and territories in the near future.
Interest in this program has been broad, with discussions in the Green Triangle region about developing a safety audit tool for the program. Other areas have talked about using the program as a pre-qualification tool for contractors – to see if they meet a company’s requirements for work.
