ForestWorks hosted a National Safety Forum and SEC (Skills and Employment Council) meeting on Tuesday 14th August prior to the Forest Industry Safety & Technology Conference. The forum was well attended with over 60 people present.
A series of short presentations and discussions covered topical issues such as the Work Health and Safety Standard and Audit Tool, Training Package Projects Update, FOLS case study, AFPA Critical Rules and the Forestry Contractor Accreditation Program development in NSW. An active discussion was held about the importance of training and the differing approaches taken to ensure workers are competent in their job roles.
