National Skills Needs List

About the program: The National Skills Needs List identifies traditional trades that are experiencing a national skills shortage. The list is based on detailed labour market research and analysis. Under the Australian Apprenticeships Incentives Program, an Australian Apprentice undertaking a Certificate III or IV qualification that leads to an occupation listed on the National Skills Needs List may be eligible to attract certain employer incentives and personal benefits.

Trade Support Loans

About the program: Trade Support Loans are loans paid in instalments totalling up to $20,000 over the life of an Australian Apprenticeship. These loans are intended to assist apprentices with everyday costs while they complete their apprenticeship. Eligible trade Australian Apprentices may apply (opt-in) for regular instalments according to their needs.
