Just a reminder that from 1 July 2018, the NSW Government is making new apprenticeships fee-free. This means that there are no more upfront training costs for students or employers. This applies to all apprenticeships across all industries and includes forestry and furnishing trades.

Some qualifications are delivered as traineeships in the workplace. These qualifications have fees payable by the learner or the employer capped at $1,000 with the rest of the training fees covered by the Smart and Skilled program. Other training, such as skill sets or part qualifications, can attract State government funding in NSW.  Please check with the NSW ITAB Executive Officer Tim Cleary on 0438 846 546, or your local office of Training Services NSW.
