The Forest and Wood Products Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) are currently being reviewed in a process established by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC).

The structure and membership of all 70 IRCs (that together cover all Australian industries) are being reviewed to ensure the best possible industry coverage and expertise to support training package development.

After initial consultation with the industry, three revised IRCs have been proposed for the Forest and Wood Products industry. Positive feedback from industry stakeholders during the public consultation period, which ended on 20 June 2016, has confirmed the structure of these three IRCs:

  • Forest Management and Harvesting IRC
  • Timber and Wood Processing IRC
  • Timber Building Solutions IRC

The AISC will soon call for nominations for these committees. Visit the AISC website orcontact us for further information.

ForestWorks supports the Industry Reference Committees (IRC) for forest, wood products and pulp and paper industries, via arrangements with Skills Impact.

Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) drive the process of training package development and are made up of people with experience, skills and knowledge of their particular industry sector.
