A reminder that funding for training is available to Tasmanian businesses as part of the Training and Skills Development Service.

A workshop is being held on Wednesday 12 April 2017, 10am-12pm in Launceston, for RTOs seeking more information about the program. To reserve your place at this workshop please email tsds@forestworks.com.au.

The Training and Skills Development Service assists Tasmanian forestry workers to adjust to changing job requirements, brought about by advances in technology and new product development. Funding is available for training courses that will benefit industry and which are relevant to current and future job roles. Courses should be provided by a registered training organisation. Please refer to the TSDS webpage for further information, guidelines and application forms.

Applications which may fall outside the guidelines should still be submitted for training, provided a clear benefit to the Tasmanian timber and forest industry can be demonstrated. An example of this is the training on Threatened Butterflies, conducted by the Forest Practices Authority, which was recently approved. If you are interested in finding out more, contact the TSDS Project Team on tsds@forestworks.com.au or call 03 6331 6077.
