Thank you to those who joined us in Melbourne late last month for an Afternoon Teal, and to those who donated.

Afternoon Teal is a play on words of afternoon tea and teal which is the international colour of ovarian cancer. Ovarian Cancer Australia’s Afternoon Teal campaign encourages people to host a fundraising event for their friends, family or colleagues during February – the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

ForestWorks hosted the event on behalf of the Women in Forests and Timber Network (WFTN).

Diana Lloyd, ForestWorks General Manager, said the Afternoon Teal campaign was a great opportunity for WFTN members to network with others in our industry and, at the same time, help raise awareness and funds for a key women’s health issue – ovarian cancer.

“It is important to raise awareness of the symptoms of the disease, especially when there is no early detection test and three Australian women will die each day of ovarian cancer,” Diana said.

The Women in Forests and Timber Network (WFTN) is a forum for women in our industry to meet, exchange ideas and ensure female voices are heard. Read more about the WFTN here.
